By participating in our annual scholarship program, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

  • To submit an entry, you must be currently enrolled in high school, university, or college as a full-time student (for the current school year).
  • If you are under eighteen (18) years of age, you must obtain written parental or legal guardian consent to submit an entry and to claim any prize that may be awarded to you. Seasons in Malibu may ask for proof of age and/or written parental/legal guardian consent.
  • By submitting an entry, you are confirming that you are eligible to participate and eligible to claim any prize you may win.
  • Entries not submitted in accordance with these terms and all other rules and directions given by Seasons in Malibu, or entries that are incomplete or illegible (as determined in our sole discretion), will not be eligible.
  • There will be two (2) contest submission dates. To be eligible for consideration, you must submit your entry by one of the following submissions periods: Round 1 (January 3 – May 31; winner to be announced on or around July 1); Round 2 (July 1 – November 30; winner to be announced on or around December 31).
  • By submitting an entry, you agree that Seasons in Malibu may, at its sole discretion, edit, adapt, abridge, or translate the entry for the purposes listed in these terms and conditions (even if you do not win, we may, for example, publish your submission excerpts). Please bear this in mind when submitting an entry. Please take pause when submitting an entry that includes personal information of yourself or others. Seasons in Malibu bears no responsibility for an entry’s contents and the information included therein.
  • By submitting an entry, you consent to Seasons in Malibu using your personal information for the purposes of offering the scholarship and for reporting to the appropriate tax authorities. We will not share your personal information to any other persons or entities, or use your personal information for marketing purposes.
  • Each winner will be required to provide proof of successful acceptance to an institute of higher education or learning, college, or university. Disbursement of the scholarship funds will be made directly to the winner’s institute of higher education or learning, college, or university on behalf of the winner.
  • There will be one winner from each round. A judging panel of Seasons in Malibu staff will be established for each round. The judging panel, or a subset thereof, will be responsible for shortlisting what it judges to be, in its subjective discretion, the best entries, and the panel will choose the winner for that round from the shortlist.
  • The decision of the judging panel is final and at its sole discretion. No correspondence or discussion will be entered into by us in relation to that decision.
  • The prize amount is $1,500.00 (USD).
  • There is no alternative prize and prizes cannot be transferred to another person.
  • We will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner(s). If any winner cannot be contacted or is otherwise disqualified from participation (e.g., for lack of obtaining parental consent, in the case of a minor; cannot provide proof of acceptance to/attendance at an institute of higher education or learning, college, or university), Seasons in Malibu reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the pool of successful entries.
  • We may disclose the names of winners and their affiliated institute of higher education or learning, college, or university on our website(s) to congratulate and acknowledge scholarship recipients.
  • We are not liable for any damage, loss, or disappointment suffered by you taking part or not being able to take part in this scholarship program, or from being unable to claim a prize. We are not liable for any damage, loss, disappointment, personal injury, or death occurring as a result of participating, or attempting to participate, in this scholarship program.
